Obituary of Joyce A. Boutelle

SWANVILLE

JOYCE A. BOUTELLE, 75, passed away on March 12, 2024 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.  She was born in Portland on July 26,1948, raised in Searsport and attended Searsport schools.  Eventually she met and married her first husband, Cyrus Blodgett, and moved to Dover-Foxcroft where they had three children.  After they divorced, she met her second husband, Arthur Boutelle.  They lived in New Jersey before moving back to Searsport where Art passed away in 2007.  

Besides her parents, Joyce was predeceased by her infant son; brothers Joe Rosebush, Michael Hichborn, Gary Maddocks and Larry Maddocks; sisters Alice Dwyer and Patricia Feener. 

She is survived by her children, Bill Blodgett of Dover-Foxcroft, Rick Blodgett and wife Martha of Dover-Foxcroft, Melissa Robbins and husband Dan of Sangerville and a very special step-daughter, Carrie Boutelle of Tennessee.  Joyce is also survived by five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, her brothers Everett Maddocks and wife Laurel of Winterport, Bert Maddocks and wife Rhonda of Danforth, sisters Carol Gray and husband Garlie of Bucksport, Pam Knowlton and husband Roland of Swanville, Jane Simpson of Belmont as well as her two very special friends, Joyce Doliber of Stockton Springs and Marilyn Kenney of Northport. 

At Joyce's request there will be no funeral service.  Burial will be at Merrithew Cemetery in Searsport.  Memories and condolences may be offered on her tribute wall.
