Harvey, if I could do half as much as you to make the world a better place, I'd be a happy person. Thanks for sharing your knowledge so patiently and for your tireless dedication. Happy hunting, wherever you are.

Deepest condolences go out to the King family and our thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time. Our family has always admired Harvey and we valued our time with him, whether it was in education, assisting in athletic activities, jogging/road racing, mountain climbing, hiking the trails, canoeing on rivers, sailing, camping and search and rescue. He was a very special friend and he will be greatly missed.

Our deepest sympathy to Harvey's family. He was so kind to participate in my husband's service on May 7 and it was unbelievable that he passed away just days after. He has been a long time friend and will be sadly missed.

The members of the Maine Association of Search and Rescue send their condolances to the King family, the Waldo County Search and Rescue Unit and members of the Waldo County community that knew Harvey. Harvey was a great volunteer who did much for search and rescue in Maine. We will miss him.

My deepest sympathies go out to Harvey's family during this difficult time. I remember Harvey as my History teacher at BAHS. I feel so fortunate that I got to speak with him just a week ago and reminisce - not knowing it would be the last time. He will be sadly missed.

Harv was a great mentor to our son Grant. He worked with him in BSA Troop 27 to earn merit badges. Harv recently took Grant to UMaine Orono campus for the Sportmans Show while representing Search and Rescue. Grant mentioned that as they traveled to Orono Harv told him all kinds of stories of recent rescues! Grant will never forget his kindness and the fun they had ice fishing with the Boy Scouts too! RIP Harv... we will miss you a lot!

We will miss you Harvey and your sense of humor. I'm so glad we got one last hug at the school retirement party last year. You were one of the first people to welcome me at the high school in 1996 when I didn't know a soul. I'm sorry I never got to make you the braggiole. Hope there'll be plenty of that and other Italian specialties where you've gone. My condolences to your loved ones.

Mr King was a phenomenal teacher. He truly cared about each and every student in his classes. My heart goes out to you during this time and I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Two very sad losses to BAHS alumni.
